Former Karnataka Lokayukta given interim bail
Bengaluru: After the Karnataka High Court rejected his plea seeking to quash the proceedings against former Lokayukta Y. Bhaskar Rao before the Lokayukta Special court in connection with the extortion scandal involving his son, the justice appeared before the court here on Monday. The court granted him interim bail until it decides on his bail petition.
Justice Rao arrived at the Lokayukta Special Court at Mayo Hall around 11.30 am in compliance with the summons issued to him. His counsel moved the interim bail petition on the grounds that the Justice needed to perform the rituals of his mother’s death ceremony. Considering the plea, the judge granted Justice Rao interim bail and the hearing was posted to November 30. The court asked SIT to file objections for his bail plea.
