Fab City gets green panel nod
Hyderabad: The Telangana State Level Environment Impact Assessment Authority has approved environmental clearance for Fab City, TSIIC-Shamshabad zonal manager D. Ravi said environmental clearance was sought as Fab City had been changed from an electronics manufacturing cluster to a solar semiconductor SEZ. Fab City hosts about 19 units including the cellphone maker Micromax.
A public hearing was conducted in August at the project site, located on 473 hectares at Raviryal, Imamguda and Srin-agar villages of Maheswaram mandal in Shamshabad district. The government had issued orders to set up effluent treatment plants for Solar Semiconduct Private Limited, HL Telecom and Energy limited, Surana Ventures Limited and KSK Surya Photovoltaic Ventures Limited.
The state level committee noted that the Fab City and Ecity manufacturing cluster would include plants manufacturing semiconductor chips apart from photo solar cells, fab, PV solar module assembly. among others.
