Hyderabad: Mild tension prevailed at Om Jai Baba Ashram in Godumakunta village of Keesara on Sunday when members of the ashram denied entry to the parents of a mentally challenged woman who was admitted there.
According to police, the 24-year-old woman hailing from Nirmal was admitted at the ashram two months ago for treatment. On Sunday, the woman's mother, Manga Devi, went to the ashram to see her daughter but she was denied entry.
Locals, in a huge numbers, gathered near the ashram and staged a protest, following which Keesara police swung into action to settle the issue. However, the police officials were also not allowed inside the place. The police did not receive any complaint and was negotiating with the management.
