Hyderabad: A 48-year-old head constable on Sunday succumbed to injuries he sustained in a road accident on Friday. The deceased has been identified as V. Chandramouli, head constable of Medchal.
According to the Medipally police, the accident occurred when Chandramouli was returning home after his night duty on his bike on Friday. Medipally sub-inspector Raguram said, “When he reached Bolliguda, Boduppal, an unknown vehicle rammed his bike from the rear-end and fled.”
The passers-by took him to a private hospital and then shifted him to Continental Hospital for advanced treatment.
He succumbed to his injuries on Sunday morning around 9:30 am, the official added.
The police handed over the body to the family following autopsy at Gandhi Hospital.
Police have registered a case under section 304(a) and further investigation is underway, said the official.
