Not against any project that eases traffic: DV Sadananda Gowda
Bengaluru: Union Minister D.V. Sadananda Gowda on Friday said that he is not opposed to the steel flyover, which is against the stand of his party, the BJP.
Before the National Green Tribunal granted an interim stay on the flyover on Friday, Mr Gowda said, “I am not against any project which could help decongest city traffic. In fact, we badly need a flyover on Airport Road to ease traffic. But before implementing any project, including steel bridge, the state government should clear people’s doubts.” Minister K.J. George has said I have supported the project, but he has misread my statement. During a meeting, I only said before going ahead with the project, the government should take the public and opposition into confidence. I am not with the government in chopping down 800 trees to construct the steel flyover,” he said.
