Surgical strikes: Twitteratti hail Army, #ModiPunishesPak trends top
Mumbai: The Indian Army, on Thursday, announced that it carried out ‘surgical strikes’ across the LoC, to prevent Pakistani terrorists who were ‘positioned at launch pads’, and inflicted significant casualties and heavy damages.
While Pakistan has reacted meekly claiming that the attacks were not ‘surgical strikes’, but cross–border firing, there are not many buyers for that theory.
And soon enough, Twitter went berserk with praise for both the Indian Army and Modi, appreciating the stern response that comes close in heels of the Uri terror attack that killed 18 Indian soldiers.
Memes of the Prime Minister’s statement, assuring that the perpetrators of the attack would not go unpunished, went viral on the micro-blogging site, while many presented a humorous take on the whole episode, presenting us a lighter side of things as is always.
