NHRC notice to CBI on allegations of torture behind suicide of B K Bansal, family
New Delhi: The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) notice to the director of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on the reported allegations of torture behind the suicide of suspended Corporate Affairs Director-General B.K. Bansal and his family.
The central agency will probe the allegation by Bansal that his family was harassed by some of its officials.
Bansal and his son committed suicide on Tuesday by hanging at his residence in East Delhi.
He was arrested on July 16 this year for allegedly accepting bribe from a prominent pharma company.
The agency said it has received communication from the Delhi Police enclosing therewith the purported hand written notes of Bansal and his son.
He said it contains allegations against certain CBI officials in connection with the on-going bribery investigation.
Earlier, Bansal's wife and daughter also committed suicide, after his the arrest.
