Black flag protest was stage-managed, says CM Pinarayi Vijayan
Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Wednesday defended his statement against media reiterating that the black flag demonstration against him was stage managed. The chief minister had stated in Assembly on Tuesday that the demonstration had been held by persons hired by TV channels.
When it was pointed out that the police had registered cases against five KSU-Youth Congress workers in connection with incident, the chief minister said he still believed that the episode was pre-arranged.
When asked how can the Chief Minister, who also held home portfolio, overlook the facts and go purely by instincts, Mr Vijayan said; "I have become chief minister only recently. But I have experienced what some of the media persons can do and have done. This is why I thought that way. If they are claiming the demonstration was organised by them then so be it," he said.
To a question whether he regretted having made those remarks against media, the chief minister shot back, "Why should I ? That's what I felt at that time time."
Why do you have the feeling that all journalists are against you? "I have never said that. Even when a section of media consistently attacked me, I never had such feelings," he said.
"Even after becoming the chief minister you all are helping me in your own way," he said taking a dig at the media persons.
On the objectionable remarks made by him against the opposition, the chief minister said he would explain his position in House. "Whatever I said in Assembly will be clarified in House," he added.
He said the government was ready for discussion with the agitating MLAs. But when the opposition MLAs launch agitation they should also think about the way it would be concluded, he added
