Hyderabad: The south zone police and Charminar MLA Ahmed Pasha Quadri landed in trouble after a video showing an arrested man dancing in front of cops went viral. Disco Baba, who was arrested for alleged black magic and cheating, was allegedly made to dance by cops on Tuesday inside the office of the south zone DCP.
The video showed police officials and the MLA sipping tea while the suspect is shaking his legs to a famous Bollywood song.
Meanwhile, the south zone DCP denied charges that the police forced him to dance. He said some local reporters wanted to see if the suspect can dance as his name indicated.
“After a press conference some journos asked the suspect why his name was Disco Baba and why his dress was so flashy. Then he replied that he was a disco dancer. Since he had been cheating people the journos asked him to prove what he said. Then he danced to a song. Police never compelled him to dance. It was done as per the request of the journos,” south zone DCP V. Sathyanarayana said. However, the ‘show’ that took place inside the DCP’s office raised many eyebrows.
MIM sources said Ahmed Pasha Quadri had gone to the DCP’s office to complain against Disco Baba after some victims approached him. But, after the press conference he also sat inside the DCP office and enjoyed the dance.
The south zone police arrested Disco Baba and 12 other sorcerers during a raid in the old city. They were remanded to judicial custody on Wednesday.
