Telangana HC seeks details on Jagtial satram' land

Hyderabad: A two-judge bench of the Telangana High Court directed the Jagtial municipality commissioner, the endowments department commissioner and the district collector to file their reply in the Sardar Satram land dispute in the town. A bench of Chief Justice Alok Aradhe and Justice T. Vinod Kumar was hearing a PIL filed by V. Suresh, district secretary of the Communist Party of India, alleging that the Arya Vysya Sangam had illegally demolished a satram. He stated that a temple was constructed rear side of the choultry without permission. He contended that despite municipal commissioner refusing permission, the 'Arya Vysya Sangam' was proceeding with construction activities on public land. Earlier, the bench had asked the municipal commissioner what action had been taken in pursuance of the representation submitted by the petitioner in March. On Tuesday, the bench granted four weeks to respondents to file their reply. If no counter is filed on the next date of hearing, the court would pass appropriate orders.

Petitioner told to name industries

A two-judge bench of the Telangana High Court directed the impleadment of alleged illegal industries in a PIL filed by one P.L.N. Rao who complained that the authorities had not taken action against 17 stone crushers at Chinnaraviryala. The bench of Chief Justice Alok Aradhe and Justice T. Vinod Kumar faulted the petitioner for not arraying the parties against whom allegations are made and gave him two weeks.

HC calls for forces’ housing guidelines

Justice M. Sudheer of the Telangana High Court directed the armed forces to produce all circulars relating to the allotment of accommodation to its personnel. The judge was dealing with a writ plea filed by Esha Sharma challenging an eviction order issued in January 2023, under Section 51 of the Public Premises Act, 1971 in respect of Quarter No. 234/2. Gen. Thimmaiah Line, Secunderabad. The petitioner alleged that without considering her detailed reply to a showcause notice, the military was proceeding to dispossess her unlawfully. Gadi Praveen Kumar, appearing for the respondents, said the petitioner was the spouse of an armed force personnel who was given the accommodation on the basis of his posting and was now not eligible to continue in the same. He stated that the petitioner was estranged from the army Officer and was refusing to vacate the premises.

HC seeks details on handling cow disease

A two-judge bench of the Telangana High Court directed the director of veterinary and animal husbandry department, the district veterinary officer, and others to file an additional affidavit in a PIL relating to lumpy skin disease (LSD) in cattle. The bench was dealing with a PIL filed by Rayapuram Moulaiah alleging negligence by government officials in eliminating LSD. On Tuesday, the government stated that the goat pox vaccine had been administered in 30,96,433 cattle by the end of January. A vaccination drive had been initiated from August 1 in which 5,25,049 shots had been administered. It stated that 2,117 institutions were involved in the detection of new cases of LSD, and awareness programmes had been organised on the general sanitation and bio-security measures. The bench of Chief Justice Alok Aradhe and Justice T. Vinod Kumar observed that the respondents had not disclosed the details of 2,117 institutions engaged for detection of LSD cases, district-wise and sought the additional affidavit, including the latest measures, and posted the matter after eight weeks.
