Macca Masjid works on par, says Asaduddin Owaisi

Hyderabad: AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi on Wednesday inspected the ongoing preservation and restoration works of the historical Macca Masjid.

He inspected and enquired about the renovation works inside the Masjid and the madrasa with officials of the minorities welfare department.

The MP also enquired about the works to be done in the masjid and advised the officials to complete them in the stipulated time frame. Earlier, Mr Owaisi laid the foundation stone for Memon Apartment at Tadbun. Halai Memon Jamat is constructing apartments for economically backward members of the community on concessional rates.

Mr. A.K. Khan, adviser to the chief minister on minorities welfare, said that works regarding the acoustic and electrical system at the Macca masjid were reviewed. Renovation work on the interior and main gate is going on simultaneously. Work on the main gate will be completed in two months while the interior works of the masjid will be expedited. Mr Khan said that work on the ceiling of the madrasa will be completed at the earliest.

“Though the quality of works appears satisfactory, we will obtain a report on this from independent experts and agencies. We expect all works to be completed within six months. If needed, proposals for additional funds will be sent proposals to the government,” Mr Khan said.

Minorities welfare department director Shahnawaz Qasim and other officials were present.
