Kovai students score all India top ranks in CS exam
COIMBATORE: Two students from the textile city, R. Gokul and G. Aarudhra, have scored AIR 1 and 8 respectively in the executive programme of the Company Secretary (CS) examination, the results of which were recently declared. Staying focused while attempting the examination served as the key for both to crack the examination with flying colors, the candidate said.
Admitting that he did not expect to score all India rank 1, Gokul said that he owed his success to his parents who encouraged him to take up the company secretary course. Having completed his high school, the 19-year old Kovai boy did not enrol for an undergraduate programme. Instead, he set his eyes on Chartered Accountancy, and currently, is undergoing articleship training under a city-based chartered accountant.
“I did not attend any coaching classes to prepare for the CS examination. I began reading study material only 30 days prior to the examination. Five days ahead of the examination, I studied from day to night. The key is to stay focused while attempting the exam,” Gokul said.
Seconding him is Aarudhra, who also did not enroll for any formal classes to train for the examinations.
“It was all self study, and I thoroughly went through the study material. I stayed focused while attempting the various papers which are part of the examination, and this helped me do well,” she added.
While Gokul has not decided on his career path, 23-year-old Aarudhra wants to become CEO of a company.
