Kochi to host global meet on neurosurgery

The three days scientific meet will discuss and provide in-depth, hands-on training on all aspects of spine surgery.

Kochi: Kochi will host an international conference on spine surgery ‘Spine 2019’ which will focus on the latest minimally invasive diagnostic and surgical techniques, technological advancements and improved patient safety from August 30 to September 1.

The meet being is organised by the Neuro Spinal Surgeons Association of India (NSSA) in association with the Cochin Spine Society. Governor Justice (retd) P. Sathasivam will inaugurate the conference.

Dr. Sajesh K. Menon, organising chairman and professor and HoD of neurosurgery, Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, Kochi, said that highly advanced technologies, implants and advanced surgical techniques like minimally invasive or keyhole spine surgery have enabled safe conduct of complex spinal procedures.

The three days scientific meet will discuss and provide in-depth, hands-on training on all aspects of spine surgery. A robotic spine surgery workshop will also be. held.

As prelude to the conference, a cadaveric workshop will be held on August 29 at AIMS.
