HC reserves order in PIL on Palamuru

He alleged that the authorities have fixed prices based on the advice of the advisor to the irrigation department.

Hyderabad: The HC on Tuesday reserved its orders on a PIL by former minister Dr Nagam Janardhan Reddy, seeking a CBI probe into alleged irregularities in revising the estimates to purchase electrical and mechanical equipment for Palamuru Ranga Reddy Lift Irrigation Scheme.

He alleged that the authorities have fixed prices based on the advice of the advisor to the irrigation department, ignoring the prices quoted by the Engineering Staff College of India.

He said the revision of estimates would cause a loss of Rs 2,428 crore to the public exchequer and also give scope for corruption.
