Early poll hopes stir up activities in TRS circles

CM to hold a series of Cabinet and Assembly meetings.

Hyderabad: September is going to be a month of hectic political activities for Telangana State. Amid speculations on early elections to the Assembly. Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has intensified the administration and political activities. To counter the TRS' political moves, Congress, the main opposition party has also stepped up its efforts. The Chief Minister will organise a series of Cabinet meetings in September and is likely to take key decisions on poll bonanzas as well as dissolution of the Assembly.

In the first week of September, a brief Assembly session is likely to be held. Apart from this, CM has started the exercise to transfer of IAS and IPS officers in a large scale. Some district collectors are also in the transfers list. In the political front, Mr Rao is organising a massive public meeting September 2 in the outskirts of the city, in the name of Pragathi Nivedana Sabha.

The Chief Minister has already said that he would announce the first list of party candidates for the assembly elections. To counter this, Congress party is also planning to conduct a huge public meeting. The TPCC leadership is planning to bring UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi to this public meeting. Initially, the TPCC had decided to conduct the final phase of the Praja Chaitanya Bus Yatra from September 1, but changed the plans and is waiting for clarity on early assembly elections. AICC president Rahul Gandhi is also likely to visit Telangana in September.

The TPCC has decided to announce 50 per cent of party candidates in September month. The party is also likely to start the discussions with other political parties like the TD regarding alliances. The Chief Minister is likely to announce interim relief for government employees. He had recently announced allotment of lands to various communities. A decision in this regard is expected in the next Cabinet meeting. The state government already directed the secretaries to send to the Cabinet proposals for this.
