Congratulatory messages pour in for MK Stalin as DMK president
Chennai: With M.K. Stalin unanimously having been elected as DMK president, several politicians conveyed congratulatory messages here on Tuesday.
TNCC president Su Thirunavukkarasar, said, “I hope that Stalin will lead the party in the path of Thanthai Periyar, Anna and Kalaignar and he will succeed in his new assignment.”
K.M. Kader Mohideen, national president of the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML), in a statement, said, “It is a historic one, as Stalin has become DMK president. Further, I hope that he will follow in his father's footsteps to lead the century old movement.”
PMK MP Anbumani Ramadoss extended his wishes to both newly elected DMK president Stalin and treasurer Durai Murugan. “Both have 50 years of political experience. While Stalin succeeded in his youth wing, Durai Murugan also started his political career in the teens. Both will continue to discharge their duties in their new positions,” he said.
VCK chief Thol Thirumavalavan said that Stalin will strengthen the social justice and protect welfare of the people, as his predecessors dis. “Stalin has gradually improved his political career and he was already identified as DMK president by late DMK president M. Karinanidhi,” he said.
R. Mutharasan, state CPI secretary, expressed happiness over elevation of Stalin as DMK president. “He is very interested to sense people's issue and resolve the same,” Muthasaran noted.
In his congratulatory message, the Prince of Arcot, Nawab Mohammed Abdul Ali, has extended his greetings to Mr Stalin on being elected as DMK President.
“You have assumed the mantle of leadership from your beloved father, Kalaignar. Your rich experience in dealing with men and matters will be of immense value to your party.' Hope you will follow the footsteps of your leaders in building your party stronger,” the Prince said.
TMC president G.K. Vasan, BJP leader L Ganesan and MDMK general secretary, Vaiko greeted messages.
