Mumbai rains: Stay indoors, abandon cars if needed, police tell residents
Mumbai: Mumbai has been experiencing heavy rainfall since Saturday morning, with the regional Meteorological Centre, Colaba predicting the situation to remain the same for next 24 hours.
Lives of Mumbaikars have come to a standstill while incessant rains continue to lash the city. Locals are stranded in crowded buses and trains. Civic authorities have asked people to keep indoors and not wade through dirty brown waters to offices. At some places, vehicles can barely be seen above water.
However, the Mumbai police has not only been on it's toes helping people, but has also been continously giving updates through social media.
Here are a few tips by the Mumbai police to keep yourself safe as heavy showers continue to choke the city:
