Madras HC orders notice on overpriced Vivegam tickets
The judge and posted the matter for further hearing to September 11.
Chennai: The Madras High Court on Monday ordered issue of notices to Tamil Nadu government and 28 cinema theatres on a plea seeking a direction to the authorities to take action for excess charges collected during the first four days of Ajith starer film Vivegam.
Justice M. Duraiswamy gave the order on a petition filed by G. Devarajan and directed the Government pleader to file counter affidavit within two weeks.
Devarajan submitted that the theatre owners across Tamil Nadu were collecting excess ticket fares for the movies acted by top stars ignoring the prescribed rates fixed by the government. The judge and posted the matter for further hearing to September 11.
