Bengaluru: Tanisha Dutta fights body shaming to enter beauty contest

Having steely grit as good as the character of James Bond 007, she coincidentally uses 006 code beside her usernames.

Bengaluru: Are you being body shamed in your own close family circles? Does life and fate put you into a mode of depression? Here is a story that can change your life.

Meet Mrs India World Wide 2019 finalist Namma Bengaluru girl Tanisha Dutta Roy, who has a great tale to share about herself as she has gone through hell in her life.

Having steely grit as good as the character of James Bond 007, she coincidentally uses 006 code beside her usernames.

Tanisha, originally from West Bengal, has made Bengaluru her home since the last two decades or so and is all set to travel to Greece as one of the 171 finalists to participate in the beauty pageant competition in October this year. She was selected among over 30,000 participants from competitions held across the globe.

As she sees through her past, sudden demise of her dear father, end of her dream career in Dubai, supporting her mother in all ways and then the struggle she went through in life threatening cancer ailment, winning over it and later emerging victorious of body shaming in her close circles to achieve the present feat.

Tanisha now oozes with confidence and fitness. She remembers how she abruptly cut off from sweets and carbs. “Not eating sweet is almost equal to not being a Bengali," she quips. Every day three hour rigorous workout for three to four months brought her self-confidence back. Tanisha weighed 59 kilograms as a result of a six-month long bed rest. She now weighs 47 kilos.

"If you start going in the right direction, the path chooses you," Tanisha says. "It all happened in February. I got a call from organisers of Haut Moude. When auditions were held in Bengaluru, I participated and I was on cloud nine when I was told that I was selected to the team of finalists among 30,000 contestants," she maintains.

Tanisha could not forget her fight with cancer. She had gone for the treatment of salivary gland tumor. After the sensitive surgery, it was told that she had been diagnosed with cancer. "I was diagnosed with cancer in one of the strains in the bioscopy results.

My tumor from benign had turned malignant. Instead of getting treatment I planned to hop on to the world tour. However, my family forced me to undergo treatment," she explains.

The cancer was diagnosed in the preliminary stage. 'If it were to be found in the second stage, I wouldn't have been telling my story. My belief in Shirdi Saibaba did not shatter an inch even after the shocker.

I was advised to be in bed rest for six months that led me to put on 25 kilos. I went into mental depression as friends, neighbours indulged in body sham_ing. I reached a stage of not talking to anyone,” she emembers.

One fine movement, Tanisha said to herself, enough is enough. She became a ‘hero’ unto herself. It all started with hitting the gym with a vengeance. What started as a three-hour workout for her daily today has landed her close to a reputed beauty pageant.

While all this is happening, Tanisha is winking at her guardian angel her daddy, who is up in the sky guarding and blessing her.
