Bengaluru: 2 construction workers dead

Both were rushed to the hospital, where Koimul was declared brought dead.

Bengaluru: Two construction workers died in separate accidents in two under construction sites in Bengaluru since Saturday evening. The police have identified the deceased as Koimul Haque (24), from Assam and Srinivas (33), from Tamil Nadu.

Haque slipped from the fourth floor of an under construction school building in Sathanuru village in Bagalur police station limits on Saturday evening. He was working with Abdul Zakir, also from Assam.

While they were carrying out fabrication work, the centering fold on which they sat broke. The duo fell from the fourth floor and sustained severe injuries.

Both were rushed to the hospital, where Koimul was declared brought dead. Abdul is undergoing treatment.

Bagalur police have booked a criminal negligence case against contractor Muniswamy for not ensuring workplace safety.

In the second incident, Srinivas, a bar bender got electrocuted while working at an under construction building.

While shifting bars Srinivas came in contact with a live electric wire that passed close to the building. He died on the spot. Chikkajala police have begun investigation.
