Chennai dog squad is overall champion

The dog squad belonging to Chennai police also secured overall championship in the competition, a police press release said.

Chennai: The dog squad belonging o Greater Chennai police had conjured up the overall championship shield at the 62nd state police competition held in Vandalur and Avadi between July 22 and July 27.

Eight-year-old male Doberman Agni that belongs to dog squad of Chennai Police had secured a gold medal in the competition of finding narcotics substances. Meanwhile, 4-year-old female Doberman, Jhansi won a bronze medal in the same category. The dog squad belonging to Chennai police also secured overall championship in the competition, a police press release said.

Knowing the achievements, the city police commissioner A.K. Viswanathan called Agni’s trainer head constable J. Abraham and Jhansi’s trainer head constable S. Vinothan to his office at Vepery along with Agni and Jhansi to appreciate the achievement. According to the release, Agni had secured 4 gold medals, 1 silver medal and 2 shields at various state level competitions. Jhansi also secured 1 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze medals.
