Madhya Pradesh officer stirs row over poetic plaint
Bhopal: A woman officer of Madhya Pradesh government on Friday stirred a hornet’s nest by taking to social media to narrate the ‘woes’ of babus in the state.
Bhumija Saxena, currently posted as tehsildar in Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh, penned a nine-stanza poem of 339-word-length describing difficulties and challenges faced by her colleagues, working in the state revenue department, while discharging their duties. She then posted it on her FB wall, creating discomfort in the official circle here.
“My comments dwelt on issues pertaining to revenue department. I have exhorted my colleagues to function cohesively for better delivery,” she told the media.
State agriculture minister Gouri Shankar Bisen, who is also in-charge minister of Gwalior district, on Friday, took strong exception to the FB post saying, “The officer may have some personal problems. The state government staff are happy following the recent declaration by the Chief Minister to implement the seventh pay commission and to enhance the dearness allowance,” he said.
