Bengaluru Auto drivers seek welfare schemes
Bengaluru: The High Court on Friday ordered issue of notices to Bangalore Development Authority and others following a petition filed by Auto rickshaw Drivers Souhardha Co-operative Ltd and another seeking directions to extend benefits of various government schemes such as allotment of sites and houses to them. They have approached the court citing various difficulties faced by them. "The state government should formulate a separate scheme for grant to allocate sites and houses through BDA and KHB," the petitioners stated.
They have sought for extension of government schemes such as Pradhan Mantri Aavas Yojane, Dr B R Ambedkar Vasati Yojane, Vajapayee Nagara Vasati Yojane and Rajeev Gandhi Vasati Yojane.
PIL dismissed
HC on Friday dismissed a PIL seeking directions to BBMP not to grant permission for holding any non sporting event and activity in the National College grounds at Basavanagudi.
