Thiruvananthapuram: CPM hails victory in LSG bypoll`

The CPIM will continue to make efforts to win back the support of the sections which have alienated from the party.

Thiruvananthapuram: CPM state secretariat on Friday hailed the victory secured by the ruling front in the local bodies bypoll held in 13 districts.

In many wards where the LDF had suffered huge losses, it managed to win this time.

CPM state secretariat said the results were a reply to those who had written the epitaph of LDF after LS polls. The secretariat said the efforts will continue to regain the lost support and the local bodies results are an indication of the success of party efforts.

The LDF increased its vote share in all wards compared to what it secu-red in recent Lok Sabha elections.

The results of local bodies have vindicated the party’s evaluation that the Lok Sabha poll defeat was only a temporary phenomena and the LDF would be able to overcome it.

The secretariat said UDF gained in Lok Sabha polls because a sizable section believed that Congress would be able to from a secular government at the Centre. These voters had no enmity with the LDF which has now been proved.

The CPIM will continue to make efforts to win back the support of the sections which have alienated from the party.

Results reflect anger against Government; says KPCC president

The results of local bodies bypoll reflected the anger against Pinarayi Vijayan Government’s anti-people policies.

In a statement here KPCC president Mullap-ally Ramachandran claimed that the UDF wrested nine seats from the LDF. The LDF’s seats came down from 23 to 22. This clearly indicated that the anti-government sentiments witnessed during Lok Sabha polls were still prevailing in the state.

‘BJP victory recognition of Modi Govt’s policies’

The BJP said the victory secured by the part in the local bodies bypoll is significant and ratification of the policies of Na-renrda Modi Govern-ment. BJP state president P.S.
