Hyderabad: South Central Railway has bagged the highest number of efficiency awards. The awards will be presented by railway minister Piyush Goyal at Mumbai on July 7, as a part of the 64th Railway Week Celebrations.
The SCR has has bagged four awards in all-India performance efficiency: Traffic transportation, personnel management, civil engineering and stores
The zone operated 2,162 special trains, the highest number, and added more than 10,000 extra coaches. This resulted in carrying 30 lakh additional passengers and earned it the traffic transportation award.
The zone was instrumental in implementing human resources initiatives such as employees overseas camp and staff welfare canteen and the introduction of digital Initiatives to benefit staff and promoting initiatives such e-settlement for superannuating employees and e-Office for file movement. The SCR has been nominated as the nodal zone for developing and implementation of the Unique Medical Identity Card for employees and pensioners at the pan-India level, which led to bag personnel management shield.
