Hyderabad:ABVP calls for school bandh, 10 members arrested

The bandh was called for the formation of district fee regulatory committees and for proper implementation of the Right to Education Act.

Hyderabad: The state-wide Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) declared a bandh of all schools and junior colleges in Hyderabad, however, private schools in Siddipet and all international schools in the city failed to comply.

While all private schools in the city announced a holiday following ABVP’s declaration, international schools continued to conduct classes as per their schedule despite the protests held by the ABVP.

Further, all private schools in rural areas declared a holiday except for the ones in Siddipet, where 10 members of the ABVP were arrested for protesting in opposition.

The bandh was called for the formation of district fee regulatory committees and for proper implementation of the Right to Education Act.
