Hyderabad: Process for building permissions eased
Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has decided to issue building permissions at one go if builders submit plans in compliance with the norms prescribed for structures to be built on plots less than 500 square yards in area. Civic body commissioner M. Dana Kishore said builders can accord self-approval for structures on lands smaller than 200 square yards.
Apart from this, the corporation will launch a common building application in two weeks for applicants seeking building permissions. It will enable applicants to obtain no-objection certificates (NoC) online from the revenue, fire services, irrigation, urban land ceiling, and traffic police departments and from the Airports Authority of India and the National Monuments Authority.
Due consideration was given to the inputs received from the various departments concerned while drafting this form. The fire department has suggested a few changes which will be incorporated before the form is launched on Thursday.
At present, an applicant is required to approach every department seperately for the permission, which takes months. After the upgrade, however, the applicant will have to upload the building plan on the Development Permissions Management System.
The civic body will then check if the plan meets the NoC requirements and forward it to the other departments for simultaneous processing. If the application is in order, then the NoC will be issued within seven working days.
Mr Kishore said, “Applications for buildings to be constructed within 200 metres from heritage monuments will be forwarded to the National Monuments Authority. Applications for buildings coming up within 200 metres of an airport will be forwarded to the Airports Authority of India,” he added.
