Hyderabad: Aspirants of Urdu officer post cry foul over results

The test was held to recruit 66 Grade I and II Urdu officers.

Hyderabad: Candidates who took the Urdu officer recruitment test have raised suspicions over the fairness of the results. The test was held to recruit 66 Grade I and II Urdu officers.

Mr Mirza Ghani Baig, a candidate, alleged that the officials had released the notification late, allowing candidates who had cleared the BUMS to apply. “The officials did not mention allowing BUMS candidates. An amendment was made later,” he claimed.

Another candidate, Rana from Nizamabad, said officials had not followed the ‘roster’ system. “There is no clarity how the candidates were selected. Those who passed are not aware of where they stand.”

Alleging corruption, a group of candidates on Thursday wrote to Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, seeking his intervention to stop the process and order an inquiry.

When contacted, TS Urdu Academy director Prof. S.A. Shukoor said the test was conducted by the JNTU. “All the rules laid down by the government were adhered to,” he said.

With regard to allowing BUMS candidates, he said the first GO had stated that graduates or those holding equivalent degrees could apply. He said the roster system provided by the General Administration Department was followed and double evaluation of answers scripts was done.
