Asian Development Bank ready to help fund Hyderabad projects

As a follow up to this, a team of ADB officials visited the city and met officials to take these proposals forward.

Hyderabad: The Asian Development Bank has come forward to fund various infrastructure projects being executed in the city. A team of officials from ADB met the Chief Secretary S.K. Joshi and principal secretary, MAUD, Arvind Kumar, on Thursday to discuss ways to extend financial assistance to various infrastructure projects in city.

They expressed the bank’s willingness to fund the Strategic Road Development Programme to construct new flyovers, multi-grade separators, the second phase of Hyderabad Metro Rail and the Musi beautificaton project.

GHMC Mayor Bonthu Rammohan, during his recent trip to Delhi, had submitted proposals to ADB seeking funding for various infra projects in city. As a follow up to this, a team of ADB officials visited the city and met officials to take these proposals forward.

Kshatrapati Shivaji, the ADB executive director and senior country specialist, Rajeev Singh, discussed the infrastructure projects being planned in the city and the amount required to execute these projects.

Mr Arvind Kumar said the preliminary talks were encouraging and the government will soon approach ADB with detailed project reports of various infrastructure projects to seek funds.
