Telangana Chief Secretary SP Singh meets staff on zonal jobs

He said the government should ensure implementation of reservations for locals.

Hyderabad: The government has initiated the process to scrap the four-decade-old zonal system for recruitments and promotions.

Chief Secretary S.P. Singh on Wednesday met with leaders of Telangana Non-Gazetted Officers’ Association and TS Progressive Recognised Teachers' Union to to take their feedback.

TNGOs president Karem Ravinder Reddy said superintendent-level posts should be categorised as district-level posts. He said the government should ensure implementation of reservations for locals.

PRTU president P. Ravinder backed the new system at the earliest. He asked Mr Singh to implement unified service rules for teachers. Mr Singh will meet a few more employees associations on Thursday.
