Andhra Pradesh Forensic Science Laboratory reveals no sexual assault on 'Sirisha'

City police sources said the vaginal swab and clothes collected from the victim didn't yield any evidence of sexual assault.

Hyderabad: Tests at the Andhra Pradesh Forensic Science Laboratory revealed no evidence of a sexual assault on beautician A. Vijayalakshmi, alias Sirisha.

City police sources said the vaginal swab and clothes collected from the victim didn't yield any evidence of sexual assault.

Sirisha is believed to have killed herself due to various reasons including molestation by Kukunurpally sub-inspector P. Prabhakar Reddy and harassment by the other accused Vallabhaneni Rajiv.

A police official said, “We are yet to receive a formal report. But the preliminary report revealed that there were no spermatozoa on the clothes or in the vaginal swab.”

Sirisha and Rajeev and their friend Sravan went to meet sub-inspector Prabhakar Reddy at his place in Kukunoorpally to ‘settle’ a dispute between them.

After returning from the SI’s house she hanged herself to death.

The next day the sub-inspector committed suicide using his service revolver.

Police arrested Rajeev and Sravan for abetment to suicide.
