CHENNAI: Nungambakam railway station is now attracting a lot of curious people and prospective short film-makers who have been continuously visiting the station. Sitting on a corner bench at the railway station, S. Vignesh gathered bits and pieces of information obtained from random people. Talking to DC, Vignesh who acted in message oriented short films, including Oozh Vinai and Harishchandra Mayanagandam, said he was completely disturbed by the atrocious murder. “I could not sleep the whole night and reached Nungambakkam around 5.45 am to get the sense of what has happened,” he said.

Depressed over the indifferent attitude of public, he said, “I want my film to be an eye opener. My mission would be successful if the elements of unity and social responsibility go deep among people,” he added. Vignesh is now collecting funds from his friends and acquaintance to augment his mission. “I want to dedicate it to Swathi. I attempt to curb such atrocious rimes,” he added.

Annanagar resident P. Siraj, has come to Nungambakkam station for the first time to learn about safety measures. “I cut short my trip from Kerala as I could not digest the grave crime that happened. Safety measures are at stake and basic information like helpline numbers of railways is not known to many,” he said. “I have decided to learn martial arts so as to be prepared for such crimes. I don’t want to take a back step when situation demands,” said C. Kiran Kumar, who came from Royapettah to visit the station.
