Do not regret giving our son to the Wadiyars, say Yaduveer's biological parents

Mysuru: “We feel very happy and proud about our son but we miss him a lot,” said the biological parents of Mysuru scion Sri Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar, Tripurasundara Devi and Swaroop Anand Gopal Raj Urs, a day after his marriage.

Talking to Deccan Chronicle, Tripurasundara Devi said: “It was our decision to give Yaduveer for adoption. When Maharani Pramoda Devi Wadiyar approached us, we discussed it with Yaduveer and told him it was going to be a huge responsibility. He took some time and agreed. I do not have any regrets as I have given him to the house of my father-in-law Jayachamaraja Wadiyar. But I miss him at home. Yaduveer keeps telling me to assume that he is in the US, when we used to talk on phone or skype. I am very happy for him.”

Yaduveer's father said, “I feel proud of him. I am happy that he got a lovely bride. They knew each other for long.” After the wedding, a celebratory mood has gripped Mysuru Palace which otherwise remains a monument for tourists to visit. Family members and guests, who otherwise remain in the residential area, were seen moving around the entire palace, talking and laughing.

The centre of attraction of course, was Yaduveer himself, adorned in a golden coloured brocade angada and traditional, antique jewellery while his wife, Trishika Kumari wore a red saree as they sat on the Bhadrasana greeting over 2000 relatives, guests and friends at the wedding reception at the main Durbar hall of Mysuru Palace on Tuesday evening.
