Tiruchy: Second autposy done on Palanisamy’s body
Tiruchy: The body of Palanisamy, former cashier of 'Lottery King' Martin's firm was subjected to a second autopsy on Tuesday, this time led by a new team of doctors at the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital (CMCH).
Following a raid by income tax officials on his house on April 30, Palanisamy was found dead in a tank near Karamadai under mysterious circumstances.
His family members refused to accept the body and staged a protest demanding a fair probe. The body was left at the GH mortuary. Palanisamy's son and wife claimed it as a planned murder.
Meanwhile, the Madras High Court directed and appointed magistrate Ramados of Judicial Magistrate court 8 as the investigating officer. It was acting on a petition by Palanisamy's son and wife, demanding a second autopsy by a new team of doctors, being suyspicious of the wounds found in the body of Palanisamy. Magistrate Ramados also felt that the previous autopsy report was not satisfying and ordered a second autopsy.
The autopsy was conducted by a new team of doctors including Dr Sampath Kumar and it was also video recorded as directed by the court.
