Hyderabad: Man held outside UoH with ganja
Hyderabad: A man from the city was arrested by the Gachibowli police for peddling ganja.
Police said that the accused has confessed to purchasing ganja from the Dhoolpet area and selling it in and around Gachibowli.
He was caught on the main road opposite to the Hyderabad Central University and was placed under arrest.
Acting on a tip, a team of police personnel from Gachibowli rushed to Gachibowli – Lingampally road where one Tilekar Nam Dev, 22, a resident of Serilingampally, was seen waiting on the main road located opposite to the UoH. Upon checking, around 500 gm of ganja was found on him.
The accused was taken into custody and a quick drug test on him came out positive. During questioning Nam Dev revealed that he has been purchasing ganja from some persons in Dhoolpet and was supplying to his customers at 7 gm for Rs 200.
Based on his confession, Nam Dev was booked under the NDPS Act and was placed under the arrest by the police. Police are trying to find out the names of the persons who sold the contraband to Nam Dev.
