Telangana: Training in languages approved
HYDERABAD: The State Council of Educational Research and Training has told district education officers to plan for a separate training programme for Urdu medium teachers in the second phase.
The SCERT told the DEOs to include teachers teaching in English medium and other minor languages in the on-going programmes, provided they are conversant with Telugu, as the training module is in Telugu.
If a substantial number of teachers in the district belong to the minor languages, training may be arranged locally with teachers who were trained at the state or mandal level who knew both Telugu and minor medium in the next phase.
Mr M. Ravindar, president Telangana Progressive Teachers Federation (TPTF), Hyderabad, said, “Teachers training was a very old problem as Urdu and other minor medium teachers were not offered separate training and material in their own languages. We are demanding separate training in all languages. It has been arranged this year.”
