250 British Airways fliers hit
Hyderabad: British Airways cancelled its flight from London to Hyderabad, following a failure in its IT system, stranding more than 250 passengers.
British Airways announced the failure in its website and said data was being backed up to restore services.
The passengers to Hyderabad were given accommodation in hotels. British Airways later flew the passengers through its alliance partner, Qatar Airways, to Hyderabad on Sunday.
Passengers from Hyderabad who were scheduled to leave for London from RGIA on Sunday were provided alternative arrangements after being accommodated in hotels.
An official at the RGIA said British Airways services were affected globally. “Thousands of passengers had their travel plans disrupted as a result of the IT problem,” he said.
