Vijayawada: Installation of CCTV cameras at community level will help a lot in preventing and detecting many crimes, observed city police commissioner G. Sawang, after inaugurating CCTVs unit at Vastralatha in Vijayawada on Saturday. The Vastralatha merchants themselves installed the CCTV surveillance at the commercial complex as per the instructions given by Mr Sawang.
He observed that the police officials in the city utilised the CCTV footage of commercial shops in the recent past for cracking crimes.
Mr Sawang advised all the apartment owners and colony associations to come together for their security, instead of merely depending on the police by installing CCTV cameras.
