Two lakh houses to come up in Visakhapatnam
Visakhapatnam: As many as two lakh houses would come up in Achyutapuram area in the city with the participation of the private builders, said chief secretary S.P. Tucker here at a meeting on Saturday.
He said that the housing projects would be taken up in various cities and towns in the state in a big way to propel economic growth.
In a meeting with the private builders, real estate developers, members of CREDAI, government officials and experts in construction activity, he said the government would extend all support to the builders who show interest in developing the housing complexes. In the first phase, the project would be taken up on an area of 100 acre and the required land would be obtained through land acquisition process. He further assured the builders that all the needed permissions would be given within 21 days.
The housing complexes should be of all categories and classified as per the economic conditions of the beneficiaries. The complexes should have the basic facilities like a dispensary, school and commercial complexes so that all the basic needs would be within the reach of the residents.
He said the government will finalise the list of allottees and hand over it to the developers. The scheme would be easy for the government employees who could pay rent as well as monthly installments, he said. He suggested that the first project of two lakh houses should be built at Achyutapuram close to Brandix India Apparel City.
