1,800 Telangana natives sent to AP

Kamalanathan panel keeps 1,781 AP-origin persons in Telangana.

Hyderabad: In all, 1,809 employees who are Telangana natives have been allotted to AP following the final allocation of state cadre employees in 147 departments between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. They, along with others, must shift to capital region on June 27. Similarly, 1,781 AP native employees have been allotted to Telangana state. The C.R. Kamalnathan committee has completed the allotment of 43,539 state cadre employees between the two states. Out of 157 departments the committee has completed the allotment of employees of 147 departments.

To discuss the allotment of these employees, the committee will meet on June 3 and 4. Of the 43,539 state cadre employees, 24,163 were allotted to AP. Of this, 21,872 are AP natives and 1,809 employees are natives of Telangana. An estimated 482 employees are from outside both the states. About 19,376 state cadre employees were allotted to Telangana state. Out of them 13,155 are Telangana natives and 1,781 are AP natives and 480 belonged to neither state.

The committee sent the details of allocation of employees of 147 departments to the department of personnel and training for issuing of final notification. The DoPT has issued final notification for 122 departments; issue of final notification is pending for 25 departments. The Kamalnathan committee has to allot about 14,000 state cadre employees of six departments between both the states. Of these 2,928 employees are in the directorate of medical education, 6,300 in the health department, 4,743 in the Special Protection Force, 1,500 with the office of Director General of Police, 439 employees are in Ayush and 264 in the public health department. AP principal secretary L. Premachandra Reddy, who is on the Kamalanathan committee, said that the panel would complete the allocation of employees in the remaining six departments at the earliest.
