Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka sets off on protest March
Khammam: Beginning a yatra to highlight the defection of 11 Congerss legislators to the TRS,CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka said that MLAs of Opposition parties have a role in questioning the government whenever rulers are going on the wrong track.
“Democracy that was achieved through various struggles is in danger and the Indian Constitution is being violated. Such tendencies are witnessed more in Telangana state as MLAs elected by other parties are being bought by the ruling party without any hesitation,” he said.
The Congress plans to alert people on the violation of democratic principles by Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, he said. Mr Rao was luring opposition MLAs and MLAs, making them ditch those who had elected them.
The yatra will be organised in all Assembly segments where Congress MLAs have joined the ruling party. “As per the rules, MLAs who change their party should be declared ineligible. This is not being followed. We met the Governor and requested him to save democracy by announcing that MLAs who change their parties are ineligible,” he said.
Referring to the irregularities in the Intermediate marks lists, he said that government had given the contract to Globarena Technologies which was facing cases. “This wrong decision has led to the suicides of 18 students’ lives,” he said.
