Chennai Corporation removes 406 unused vehicles from streets
In a statement, Karthikeyan also said that 310 vehicles were removed in the north region, of which 299 are two-wheelers.
Chennai: The Chennai Corporation has removed 406 unused vehicles parked on streets and roads. “The corporation has been removing those vehicles with the help of police. The drive had been conducted from March 27 to April 26,” D. Karthikeyan, the Chennai corporation Commissioner said.
In a statement, Karthikeyan also said that 310 vehicles were removed in the north region, of which 299 are two-wheelers. “53 vehicles and 43 vehicles were removed from central and south region, respectively,” he added.
Of the 406 vehicles, 306 vehicles were certified as unclaimed by police, and the vehicles would be auctioned. The same kind of action would be taken on other vehicles, he said.
