TTD continues to shower boons on Telangana
Khammam: Lord Venkateswara of Tirumala in AP has been abundantly benevolent towards the people of Telangana after bifurcation of the state.
Farmers, patients and temples of Telangana have been the prime beneficiaries of the schemes implemented by the TTD over the past two years.
As much as 45 per cent of the rice required for the Sri Venkateswara Nityannadanam Scheme is procured by the TTD from Telangana. This has offered relief to the farmers of Telangana, who are getting better prices for their produce. Paddy has been procured from the districts of Khammam, Karimnagar, Nizamabad and Adilabad.
Balaji Institute of Surgery, Research and Rehabilitation for the Disabled, a medical hospital established by the TTD in 1985, extends its services to the people of Telangana as well.
About 300 patients from Khammam district have been admitted to the hospital and have undergone knee transplant surgeries.
Sattupalli MLA Venkata Veeraiah, a member of the TTD Board, said that he had looked after the surgeries of all those who had approached him.
“I use my office at the TTD to extend assistance from the Board, to the people of Telangana,” he said.
