Telangana failed farmers: TJAC chief

Prof. Kodandaram was accosted by a group of TRS activists when he visited agriculture market in Suryapet.

Hyderabad: TJAC chairman M. Kodandaram on Friday slammed the state government for failing to come to the rescue of distressed farmers.

“Not a single farmer is happy in the state. Farmers are facing huge problems but the government is turning a blind eye,” he alleged.

Prof. Kodandaram was accosted by a group of TRS activists when he visited agriculture market in Suryapet. Police intervened and managed to push away the TRS activists.

He said there are no proper facilities for farmers and they are not getting remunerative prices. “To suppress real facts, TRS leaders and activists are trying to browbeat me. They are trying to stop my visits to markets and interactions with farmers,” he said.

The TJAC chief has been visiting market yards across TS to take stock of the problems being faced by farmers. He has so far visited Mothkur, Tirumalgiri and Suryapet market yards.
