Hyderabad High Court clears path for PE job aspirants
Hyderabad: The Hyderabad High Court on Friday directed the school education principal secretary to receive applications of petitioners for the Physical Education Teachers in Residential Education Societies in the state.
Justice V. Naveen Rao while admitting the petition by A. Ravi Kumar and others, aspirants for the posts, directed the authorities to receive the applications.
According to the petitioners, the notification issued for the recruitment said that only candidates having a Bachelors degree in Physical Education and had participated in national, state or inter university level games and sports were eligible to apply for the posts.
L. Ravichander, senior counsel appearing for the petitioners, submitted that the government has now declared that the candidates who had Bachelors degree in Physical Education were not eligible to apply for the posts.
He said as per the new condition over 25,000 candidates would be disqualified and only about 6,000 candidates would be qualified. While admitting the plea, the judge issued notices to the respondents and posted the case to after summer vacation.
