Vijayawada confluence most sacred for holy dip: Krishna Pushkaralu

The district officials also have been making special arrangements at the confluence point.

VIJAYAWADA: The Krishna and Godavari confluence at Ibrahimpatnam near Vijayawada will be considered most sacred place for taking holy dip in the coming Krishna Pushkaralu, in August this year.

The district officials also have been making special arrangements at the confluence point. An iconic structure is planned to commemorate the occasion of interlinking of river waters, informed the Krishna District collector Babu A. during his recent visit to the area. The officials believe that this river confluence would be treated like that of Triveni Sangamam and give most priority in the Pushkaralu, by the pilgrims from across the states.

The revenue officials in the district observed that as the water levels in the Krishna River has been gradually decreasing day by day, the Godavari water may be the only alternative source for the coming Puskharalu. They further added that, if there would not be sufficient rainfall before the Pushkaralu, it would be very difficult to maintain minimum water levels in the river.
Meanwhile, the APSRTC also arranging special bus services to reach the Ibrahimpatnam Ghats, informed Mr. N. Venkateswara Rao, Executive Director of Vijayawada Zone, APSRTC.
