Hyderabad High Court tells Telangana, AP to act on Amway
Hyderabad: While directing the governments of TS and AP to take action against Amway India Enterprises Private Limited if they found that the company was still continuing its money circulation business, the Hyderabad High Court on Thursday closed a petition against the Amway.
The Corporate Frauds Watch Society, Vijayawada, represented by one M.V. Syam Sunder, had moved the petition in 2009, seeking to direct the authorities to stop business transactions as well as seize all business operations of Amway in the state.
When the petition was come up for hearing, a division bench comprising Acting Chief Justice Dilip B. Bhosale and Justice P. Naveen Rao, the bench pointed out that there nothing remains in the plea for adjudication. Counsel for the petitioner told the bench that the company was still continuing its money circulation business in both the states. While closing the plea, the bench told both the states to take action against the company if it was continuing its unauthorised business.
