Hyderabad: AP government Special Representative in Delhi, Kambhampati Rama Mohan Rao, in a letter on Thursday, requested the Home Minister, Rajnath Singh to direct the officer concerned to make required corrections in a RTI reply on who the designer of the national flag is. While the name of Pingali Venkayya as the flag’s designer is known, the RTI reply had said the name is not available.
People who were aware of the flag’s origins have expressed anger at the reply.
In the letter Kambhampati said that a controversial reply was given by Anuj Sharma, Director and Central Public Information Officer of the Home Ministry on a RTI query, seeking copy of resolution approving the final design of the national flag, copy of original proposal or first proposal.
