Nizamabad: Institute of Preventive Medicine report awaited on diarrohea deaths
Nizamabad: Following the death of three persons, 21 water samples were collected from the diarrohea affected villages in Nizamsagar mandal of Kamareddy district. Water samples were collected from Komalancha, Mugdumpur and Galipur villages. However all the samples tested negative.
Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, Kamareddy district collector N. Satyanarayana said that all the 21 water samples tested showed negative results. “A report from Institute of Preventive Medicine (IPM) is awaited to ascertain the exact cause for 300 people to be affected by diarrohea” he said.
As a precautionary measure, water supply through Mission Bhagiratha has been stopped to the affected villages and water is being supplied through tankers, he said.
Around 15 patients are being treated in medical camps. While the rest have been discharged.
“We have seized some ice-cream shops and are enquiring into the source of water supplied by a tanker, on that particular day when the victims fell ill,” he said.
