Cong digs deep into Surya’s old tweets, paints him misogynist!
Bengaluru: The Congress party’s social media cell is in no mood to let go the opportunity to embarrass Bangalore South BJP candidate, Tejasvi Surya making use of the #MeToo campaign, after a woman tweeted about her alleged links with Surya soon after his candidature was announced.
In fact the party obtained screenshots of her social media postings which she has now deleted, and sent them to reporters to keep the buzz alive. However, she posted a last message on Twitter, which read: “Dear All, I request every one to leave Tejasvi and me alone. It’s my humble request. We both come from very good families and a lot of people will get hurt if we drag this further. We have moved on. I have deleted my tweets on my own as I realized its not worth it.” The woman has in fact deleted her twitter account too.
Soon after the woman tweeted seeking an end to the row, the Youth Congress adopted a new strategy. It dug deep into Surya’s old messages about what he said after the Jayanagar Assembly by-poll last year and sent the screen shots to reporters obviously with an intention to malign him and dub him a misogynist and an anti-Muslim candidate!
Surya is pitted against veteran Congress leader B.K. Hariprasad in the constituency which former Union Minister late Ananth Kumar represented six times.
